Ingredients for bread dahi vada :

  • Bread slice - 6
  • Yogurt (dahi)  - 1 cup (thick chilled curd)
  • tamarind chutney (meethi saunth) – 3 tbsp (click here for tamarind chutney recipe)
  • Cashews (kaju) - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Raisins (kishmish) - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • almonds (Badam) - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • fresh coriander (hara dhaniya) - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Chili powder - ¾ tsp
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder (bhuna jeera) - ¾ tsp
  • Black salt (kala namak) - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - as per taste


Directions for bread dahi vada :

  • Chop the cashews, almonds and keep aside.
  • Take chilled yogurt in a bowl and whisk well until it become smooth.
  • Now add black salt into yogurt and mix well.
  • Take bread and cut it into circles with a sharp bowl, lid or any mould.
  • Put the round bread on plate.

  • Now sprinkle some raisins, chopped cashews and almonds over it.

Note : If you plan to make this during non-fasting days, you can use normal table salt / black salt instead of Rock Salt / Sendha Namak(used specially as Fasting Salt) and also use a little of chaat masala as well for that extra taste.

Ingredients for Fruit Chaat Recipe :

  • Apple - 1
  • Banana - 2
  • Cucumber - 1
  • Sugar – 2 Tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 1 Tsp
  • Rock Salt (Sendha Namak) – ½ Tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - ¼ Tsp
  • Jeera Powder - ½ Tsp

  • Wash and chop  the apple, bananas and cucumber into one inch sized pieces.
  • You can add other fruits as per your choice.
  • Take all the chopped items in a big bowl.

My simple recipe to make oregano spice mix/seasoning at home which tastes exactly like the Domino’s Pizza Oregano Seasoning. You can go ahead and make this in abundance and store it in a airtight container.

This seasoning makes everything you prepare taste much better.  It can be used with pasta, garlic breads and pizzas. I even love to add this in my Maggi. :p
