besan bread fritters is generally eaten during breakfast or evening tea time snack, but it is great as an appetizer and it can be made for any occasion. variety of bread like whole wheat, white or multigrain bread can be used to make besan fritters and all the breads taste delicious. try this easy and quick recipe!!!!!

ingredients for bread fritters or bread pakora :

  • bread slice - 4
  • gram flour (besan) - 1 cup (you can use coarse besan for crunch)
  • red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • asafoetida (hing) - a pinch
  • salt - as per taste
  • water - as needed
  • oil - for frying the fritters

  • now add salt, turmeric powder, asafoetida and red chilly powder.
  • add water little by little and prepare a batter.

  • green chili - 1 (chopped) (optional)
  • coriander powder (dhania) - 2 tsp
  • red chili powder - ½ tsp
  • garam masala - ½ tsp
  • mango powder (amchur) - 1 tsp
  • salt - as per taste
  • coriander leaves (cilantro or hara dhania) - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)

  • gram flour (besan) - 2 cup (can use coarse besan for crunch)
  • red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • asafoetida (hing) - a pinch

  • oil - for frying the pakodas

  • pressure cook potatoes for 3-4 whistles. wait till it cools.
  • once cool, peel off the skin, and roughly mashed them well with a potato masher or with a back of a ladle.
