believe me this homemade veg pizza is much better in taste from the ones we get from outside. my recipe work for both regular crust and thin crust versions of pizza.

pizza can be made with various different toppings and styles. you can change the toppings on the pizza as per your taste. you can buy half baked pizza base from the market and bake it with different toppings. but pizza made with homemade pizza dough and mozzarella cheese is extremely tasty and worthy of efforts you put to make one.

if you follow this simple recipe carefully you will be get yummy and delicious pizza at your home. i hope that after making this homemade veg pizza, you will stop ordering pizzas on delivery.


ingredients for veg pizza :

  • all-purpose flour (maida) - 2 cup
  • active dry yeast - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • luke warm water - 1 ½ cup
  • olive oil - 3 tbsp.
  • butter - 2 tbsp.
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • oregano seasoning - 2 tbsp (even more if you like)
  • cornmeal (makki ka atta)- ½  cup (to dust)
  • capsicum - ½ cup (chopped)
  • tomato - ½ cup (chopped)
  • onion - ½ cup (chopped)
  • grated cheddar cheese - about ⅓ cup
  • grated mozzarella cheese - ½ cup
  • pizza sauce - ½ cup (or you can use tomato sauce as well)


directions to make dough  for veg pizza :

  • activate the yeast, by adding the yeast and sugar to ½ cup lukewarm water and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • in a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, 1 tbsp oregano seasoning, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tsp salt and mix well.
  • add the activated yeast and water mix and make a dough, if needed add more lukewarm water.
  • knead the dough for 5-6 mins.
  • place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a plastic wrap/damp towel. let this dough rest in refrigerator for 4 hours or more.
  • take dough out of refrigerator. now the dough should have doubled in quantity.
  • cut it into equal size balls then covered with cloth and let it rest again for 10-15 minutes.


directions for veg pizza:

  • sprinkle lots of corn meal on a flat surface (for outer crunchy coating of the veg pizza).
  • roll the dough out to approx. 26cm diameter on a cornmeal dusted surface.

  • now transfer this to a pizza tray which is very well greased with butter.

  • spread pizza sauce, sprinkle some cheddar cheese, followed by capsicum, tomato, onion, (your choice of toppings), a little of oregano seasoning and finally mozzarella cheese.

  • finally bake in a preheated oven @ 240c for 15-25 minutes or until it’s well baked.
